Paying it Forward

Ariel Sharee Backstrom was extraordinary, I know because I am her Mother.  Almost from the day she was born I knew she was going to impact the world in a very meaningful way.  I could have never planned that she would leave so soon but she did leave a lasting impression on everyone she met and still continues to live on through memories, acts of kindness, and a standard worth reaching.

As a sophomore at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, AL, she enjoyed being a majorette, taking Honors and AP classes while attending The University of Alabama in the Early College program.  She joined Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) with the goal of becoming an obstetrician because she loved babies.  Overall, she loved taking care of people, pets, and anyone in need.

Ariel was smart, beautiful, talented, and had a great time making others laugh.  Every time I heard "Watch This" I knew it was about to be hilarious.  It is a privilege to be "Ariel's Mom" and an honor to help other young adults strive toward their dreams and goals.
